SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) – is a selective catalytic reduction, which means that only Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) and no other oxidizing agents (this is selectivity) are chemically neutralized to nitrogen and water with the help of special catalyst. The main components of SCR system are SCR catalyst, injection unit, tank for reagent of exhaust fluid and metering unit. Hazardous NOx molecules are turned into harmless nitrogen and water due to the SCR system operating. This occurs as a result of a chemical reaction inside the catalyst. Ammonia is released from TopBlue in the catalyst under the influence of temperature and water. The need to use SCR system for diesel engines is to achieve EURO 4 and EURO 5 environmental standards for the hazardous substances emissions. Production of TopBlue is strictly regulated in order to reach the highest quality of the products from the first stage of production to the final consumer. TopBlue meets industrial standard: ISO 22241.
BE AWARE! The system operating without EXHAUST FLUID REAGENT can lead to the outage of the SCR catalyst. In this regard the system recovery will be possible only after the replacement of SCR catalyst.
